St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church-Lafayette

These pictures are of the Saint Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church located at the corner of Moss Street and Rain Tree Trail in north Lafayette, Louisiana. The parish was established on the same day that Elizabeth Ann Seton was Canonized a saint on September 14, 1975.

The present church building was completed and dedicated on September 14, 2000, the 25th anniversary of the founding of the parish. These pictures were taken late in the afternoon and are darker than I would like for them to be. Maybe next time I can get pictures during the brighter time of day. Remember to click on the pictures for a larger view.

What an inviting entrance?

The parish symbol consists of a host in the center of a heart. The host and grains of wheat represent St. Elizabeth's great love for the Eucharist. The cross and thorns represent Christ's suffering and her own. The five flowers under the initials (EAS) represent her five children.
