Below are pictures of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Baldwin, Louisiana. I could not find a web site for this Parish and have very little information about the age of the parish or the church. These pictures were taken late in the afternoon as evident by the long shadows. Enjoy!

St. Peter's Catholic Church of New Iberia, Louisiana

This post includes pictures of St. Peter's Catholic Church located at 108 East Saint Peter Street, New Iberia, Louisiana. Ground breaking ceremonies for the present church were held on May 30, 1951. Construction of the church covered a two-year period. Final work was completed during the first months of 1953.


This was a difficult church to photograph because it is placed close to the street and there are a large number of poles and cables across the front of the church.

St. John Evangelist Catholic Church, Jeanerette, Louisiana

Below are pictures of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church, Jeanerette, Louisiana. The church parish was founded in 1879; this beautiful church was built in 1908. I was able to take pictures of both the outside and inside of the church. Enjoy!

The stain glass windows are really nice, unfortunately the pictures do not do them the justice that they deserve.

St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, Arnaudville, LA

The St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church parish was founded in 1854. The existing church was built in 1948. The pictures are of the outside only and was taken after after Christmas 2009; the Christmas decorations can seen.

Below are pictures of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church located at 300 West Alexander Street in Lafayette, Louisiana. This church is located on the north side of Lafayette; just south and east of the the intersection of I-10 and I-49.

This week I have pictures of St. Jules Catholic Church located at 116 St. Jules Street in Lafayette, Louisiana. I was not able to find a web site for St. Jules; therefore I do not have a lot of information about this nice church.

This is a picture of the hall behind the church. The church is blessed with several nice halls and meeting rooms.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Broussard, LA

Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, Louisiana was founded in 1883. The current Church building was built and dedicated in 1954. It seats approximately 500 parishioners. In 2004, the Church embarked on a major expansion program that included a large “Narthex” or “Gathering Space”, (an enclosed foyer for parishioners to gather before and after services), a new Administrative Center and a Parish Life Center were built.
